PEIL

PEIL is an approved Trustee under Section 72 (1) of the Securities Act 1997. PEIL therefore offers Trustee services to any interested Fund that is established under the Securities Act 1997.

Pacific Balanced Fund |
PEIL is the Fund Manager of Pacific Balanced Fund ( PBF ) which was formally known as Investments Corporation Fund of Papua New Guinea.
PBF is the first unit trust Fund in PNG and was established in 1973. The
Trust Fund
was commercialized and Registered under the Securities Act 1997 in January 2002.
The total capital value of the Fund is currently K80 million.

Pacific Property Trust |
PEIL is also the Fund Manager for Pacific Property Trust ( PPT ), which is the first property unit trust in PNG that was established in February 2003.
PEIL initiated the capital raising of the
Fund through a prospectus in early 2004. As a result, the Fund now has a total
asset value of K65 million.
The company also Manages three (3) premium commercial office complexes, namely Pacific Place (Port Moresby), Pacific MMI Building (Port Moresby) and ANZ House in Lae. Our property management team has many years of experience in property management.
Shown Below are: Toyota Tsuho (PNG) Ltd, one of the Investee companies of PBF; Pacific Place Building; Pacific MMI Building; and ANZ House Lae are all PPT properties.
PEIL is also working on new financial products that will be announced as and when statutory approvals are obtained.
Pacific Equities & Investments Limited believes in and adopts the principles of “Value Investing” with a bottom up approach as its Investment Style.
Value Investing is a principle/philosophy advocated by Benjamin Graham, an American scholar & Fund Manager and is a principle that has been proven to work for many multi-millionaires around the world, especially those who embraced this principle/philosophy in America including Warren Buffet.
Value Investing as a principle/philosophy is about buying equities/stock through a process of thorough Fundamental Analysis of a company’s financial position, financial performance, its future prospects and having knowledge of the company’s management, industry and the Economy overall as if one was buying the whole company.
Value Investing advocates little attention to stock market temperament, and other events that give rise to speculation.
The same principle is applied to Investment Property Asset Acquisitions where a thorough Fundamental Analysis of Income and Expenditure, Future prospects, Quality of tenancy lease agreements, structural & technical are done.
Bottom up approach as adopted by PEIL is about thorough Fundamental Analysis of the company, the industry and the Economy in that order in relation to stock/equity and selection.
Given that the PNG financial markets are not fully developed, available securities are very limited especially in listed stocks and as a result, the market lacks a reasonable level of depth and liquidity.
Available investment opportunities in PNG are largely unlisted and venture capital type in nature.
PEIL considers it prudent and appropriate to adopt a Value Investing Bottom Up Approach as its Investment Management Style.
PEIL is committed to an Active, Disciplined and Structured fundamental approach to stock and asset selection in the case of equities and property as well as an active duration approach to fixed interest securities.
This is line with the company’s values being “Managing other peoples money as if it were our own”.
PEIL has developed specific Investment Policies and Strategies for individual Funds under its management which complements the stated Investment policy in the Respective Trust Deeds.
This enables PEIL to apply a well structured approach to Investment Management of Funds under its management.
PEIL is committed to observing and upholding the Australian Investment Managers Association Code of Ethics where applicable to the PNG Market.
